Geno Pharmaceutical incorporated in the year 1975 as the deemed Limited Company,started its operations in the year 1977 in Bombay and shifted production in Goa in the year 1979. Subsequent to taking over of sick unit, Mr Salgaocar and his 3 Pillars have strengthened the foundation of his dream of making a successful Pharma Company. From the very beginning, their principles and single-minded objective has been to guard the health of millions through their ceaseless pursuit of superior healthcare. Thus, through their processes of procurement, manufacturing and distribution – they make sure they take the greatest care. The four pillars of the Company are: - Mrs Pramod Salgaocar, Mrs Pallavi Salgaocar, Dr Sagar Salgaocar and Mr Dilip Salgaocar and their drive to bring the company to Goa’s top Pharma brands have brought in immense success and a powerful stand in the Pharma World. Founder’s Story
The admirable Pharma King aka Mr. Dilip Salgaocar built the empire of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd with not only his blood and sweat, but his glorifying experience and wide heart. The journey to Geno begins from his interest in the prospect of a loss making venture in the 1970s, Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd was previously under a joint venture Company of “Economic Development Corporation, Goa. Post the disinvestment in 1980, the company was the sole responsibility of Mr.Salgaocar and his struggle of building a venture to an empire became fruitful as an internationally famous brand today.
In 2014, he was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement’ Award by Goa State Industries Association. He was also named ‘Businessman of the Year’ at the Business Goa Awards for Corporate Excellence 2017. Reaching several heights with Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Mr. Dilip Salgaonkar has also made an active social presence. He was former Vice President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also the Past President of Goa Small Industries Association and founder President of the Goa Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers’ Association, Goa.

Mr. Dilip R. Salgaocar excelled at Mumbai’s University Department of Chemical Technology during his degree course. Upon graduation, he stepped in as Chief Executive of M/s. Curti Chemicals Ltd. Having proven his mettle as an industrious business leader, he took on the mantle of Managing Director at Geno Pharmaceutical Ltd.
For his long and inspiring career, he was recognised with the Life Time Achievement Award by the Goa State Industries Association on the 27th of July 2014.
A figurehead across organisations, he was the Vice President of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was the Past President of the Goa Small Industries Association and founder President of the Goa Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers’ Association. He is known to be instrumental in the growth of the Indian Red Cross Society - Goa State Branch.
Mr. Salgaocar also enjoys sports and continues to vigorously involve himself in sporting activities like cricket and football. A testament to his sporting passion is his role in the past as the Treasurer of the Sports Authority of Goa. He has also founded many associations relating to cricket, football and snooker. Mr. Salgaocar was the a District Governor of R.I. District 3170;; he dives deep into the cultural interests of his locale. It is no wonder that Mr. Dilip, with his able leadership and sporting appreciation, is also the President of the Geno Sports Club.
Dr. Mrs. Pramod D. Salgaocar (MBBS)
Executive Director, Medical Services
All those around her knew that Dr. Mrs. Pramod Salgaocar was going to shake things up in the healthcare sector during her astounding academic career at Bombay University. A litany of prizes throughout her medical career have marked her many achievements. Along with having run various clinics, she has worked at multiple reputed hospitals and been part of organisations such as Indian Red Cross Society - Goa State Branch.
At Geno, she is the Executive Director of Medical Services (administration and HRD).
A formidable lady, Dr. Pramod has chaired many powerful boards and was the first female president of the IMA Goa State 2002-03. She has also been part of Rotary Club of Mapusa City for more than two decades. She has served as a Chairperson of Goa State Commission for Women for two consecutive terms. Beyond medicine, she continues to explore art and cinema by way of producing Konkani and Marathi films. She has also set her imprint in the political world for she believes that quality healthcare is not an isolated pursuit. The best health for the most people exists in a healthy ecosystem. Mrs. Pallavi Sagar Salgaocar
Executive Director, Finance
Along with a degree in Commerce and Economics, Mrs. Pallavi Sagar Salgaocar has excelled in Chartered Accountancy as well. Naturally, the fiscal mastermind heads the finance department at Geno as the Executive Director, Finance.
Alongside her executive responsibilities, Mrs. Pallavi also serves as the Director of a bank and She`s the chairperson of Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) - Women`s Wing for the term 2019-21. A mother, a wife and a creative powerhouse, she also deeply enjoys culinary expeditions.
To that end, she has published a book ‘Desserts First’ and is the Managing Executive of the dessert retailing franchise 'Desserts N More'. The brand has several accolades to its name. Mrs. Pallavi continues to lead at Geno with passionate commitment and is a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Panaji, Riviera.
Dr. Sagar D. Salgaocar (M.S. Ortho)
Managing Director
Before settling into his leadership role at Geno, Dr. Sagar D. Salgaocar pursued an extensive and rigorous academic career in medicine. After completing his MBBS and MS (Ortho), he worked at private hospitals to gain experience.
Dr. Sagar’s valuable leadership has gained Geno many recognitions. Of these, a notable one is the setting up of the WHO-GMP Compliant Liquid Plant. He was an instrumental aspect of this project as well as the overhauling of the entire oral dosage formulation set up to EU-GMP and UKMHRA Standards.
His expertise has helped guide Geno to the shores of groundbreaking pharmaceutical ideas. Along with his medical excursions, he also has an interest in real estate. He played a major role in the development of ‘EstiloModerno Realty’, a real estate company that set up a high quality villa, apartment and mixed use retail project in Sancoale, Goa.
